Cold wave likely to continue


Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecast more rain and snowfall for Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and adjoining hilly areas on Friday.
However, the current rain/snowfall spell is likely to weaken during next 24 hours and upper parts of the country will again experience cold weather in the coming three days, said an official of the met office.
The other parts of the country especially Balochistan and Sindh will also remain in the grip of severe cold wave during next two days.

According to Met analysis, the westerly wave south westerly winds with a cloud cover over upper parts are likely during next 48 to 72 hours.
The spokesman said that the foggy conditions are likely to develop again during next 2-3 days and dense fog is expected over Motorways sectors; Pindi Bhattian to Lahore, Lahore to Gujranwala and Swabi to Peshawar during the period.
The scattered rain and snowfall over the hills was recorded in different parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and GB during last 24 hours.
