Quaid-i-Azam’s 134th birth anniversary


The nation is celebrating the 134th birth anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah today with enthusiasm and national spirit.
A 31-gun salute in the Federal Capital and 21-gun salutes in provincial capitals would be given to the Founder of Pakistan. Special prayers will be held in mosques for the eternal peace of the Quaid-i-Azam and progress of the country he founded. National flag will be hoisted atop government and semi-government buildings. The day has been declared a public holiday.
The celebrations will take place both at
public and private levels by holding functions to pay tributes to the Father of the Nation for his heroic struggle for an independent homeland. The main event will take place at the Quaid’s mausoleum in Karachi, with the change of guard.
The government and various political, social and literary organisations have also chalked out plans to celebrate the occasion in a befitting manner. Seminars and conferences will be organised throughout the country to highlight the services of the Quaid-i-Azam for the nation and renewing the pledge to follow Quaid’s guiding principle of “Unity, Faith and Discipline.”
Various social, literacy and religious organisations have also chalked out programmes to mark the occasion. TV channels and Radio Pakistan have arranged special programmes on the life, achievements and desires of the great leader. Newspapers will also bring out special supplements to highlight life and struggle of great visionary leader of subcontinent. Scout rallies and march-pasts of schoolchildren will also be held.
In Lahore, Nazria-e-Pakistan Trust will organise a special ceremony at Alhamra Hall with the collaboration of Tehreek-e-Pakistan Workers Trust. Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif will preside while among others AJK President Zulqernain Khan, S.M. Zafar. Bushra Rehman, Ajmal Niazi, and Nasira Javed Iqbal will address. The Chief Minister will cut the cake and also distribute medals among 47 persons for their contribution in the Pakistan Movement.
Likewise, Markazia Majlis-e-Iqbal will hold a function at Aiwan-e-Iqbal. Prof Sharif ul Mujahid will preside while among others, Shujaat Hussein, Saad Rafique, Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri, Imtiaz Safdar Warriach, Senator Pervaiz Rasheed, Liaquat Balouch, and Sajjad Mir will address and pay tributes to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
