Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg is Donating Majority Wealth to Charity

Mark Zuckerberg the 24% shareholder of Facebook is planning on Joining up with Bill Gates, George Lucas, Warren Buffett, and many other billionaires to donate the majority of his wealth to charity, as part of moment called the “Giving Pledge,” initiated by Bill Gates and Warren Buffet.It’s the largest philanthropic work ever done, with over 50 billionaires pledging to
give away most of their fortunes to various charities.

According to an estimate, Mark Zuckerberg’s net worth is $6.9 billion, which makes him the 35th most wealthy Americans.This young billionaire as decided not to keep his wealth to himself following the foot steps of Bill Gates.

“People wait until late in their career to give back. But why wait when there is so much to be done? With a generation of younger folks who have thrived on the success of their companies, there is a big opportunity for many of us to give back earlier in our lifetime and see the impact of our philanthropic efforts,” said Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg in a statement.

This is not the first time Zuckerberg is donating ; he donated an undisclosed amount to the open social network project Diaspora as well as $100 million to Newark Public Schools. He spoke about the Newark donation on Oprah, explaining his dedication to help fix the public school system.
