Man robs bank wearing George Bush mask

By Agencies - For the second time in just more than a month, a Central Texas bank is robbed by someone wearing what police are calling a "George Bush" mask.

Austin police are looking to the public for help in identifying a man who robbed the Compass Bank at 4100 North Lamar Blvd.

Witnesses said an armed man entered the bank around 5 p.m. and demanded money. Police were told he was wearing a "George Bush" mask.

The man got away with an undisclosed amount of cash before running away. Investigators said he left the scene in a black four-door vehicle in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as:

- Approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall to 5 feet 7 inches tall

- Heavy build

He was last seen wearing a Boston Red Sox cap, dark sunglasses and gloves.

This is the 30th bank robbery in Austin this year.

Meanwhile, APD Robbery detectives continue investigating the case.
