7 Million Copies Of Call of Duty: Black Ops Sold Within 24 Hours

Earlier this week it was reported that over 4.5 million preorders were placed for Black Ops and now upon its release COD 7 has shattered all previous success records.
Call of Duty: Black Ops has opened to the largest opening day in video gaming history, beating lasts year’s Modern Warfare 2 record sales figure of 4.7 million units, within 24-hours of its launch. It has become the fastest-selling game of all time with over 7 million units sold in a single day.
Further, XBox Live has seen a reported 2.5 to 3 million players logged on at any given moment since yesterday evening.  PlayStation 3 online play is reportedly half of the
XBox 360 numbers, which will likely be reflected as well in the overall platform sales numbers.
According to VGChartz.com (a website that tracks video game industry sales figures) estimates over 3.6 million units were sold in the USA, 1.4 million units in the UK, over a million units in continental Europe and 350,000 units in Canada.
As of now, Xbox 360 takes the largest proportion of sales with an impressive 59%, 36% goes for PS3 while the remainder rests on the shoulders of PC, Wii and DS.
