More rains forecast for upper Punjab, lower Sindh, Kashmir



Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has indicated chances of thunderstorm with rainfall at isolated places in Upper Punjab , lower Sindh and Kashmir from September 1.
Director National Weather Forecasting Centre, Dr. Hanif told
APP that isolated rain is expected in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha divisions in Punjab, Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas, Thatta, Tharparker districts of Sindh and Kashmir during next 3-4 days.
According to met analysis, seasonal low lies over north Balochistan and adjoining areas with its trough extends southeast wards and monsoon trough lying over central parts of India. A fresh westerly wave is prevailing over the northwest of Afghanistan. Some week monsoon currents are likely to approach Kashmir and upper Punjab from tomorrow.
In Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan, thunderstorm associated with rainfall is expected at isolated places in upper parts on September 01 night, after that from Sep. 02, scattered thundershowers are expected for two to three days with occasional gaps.
According to Flood Forecasting Division, River Indus at Kotri is in exceptionally high flood. River Indus at Guddu and Sukkur is in high flood. River Kabul at Nowshera is in medium flood. River Indus at Taunsa, River Chenab at Trimmu and River Sutlej at Sulemanki are in low flood.
