Johnny Depp is the highest paid actor of 2010





Hollywood superstar Johnny Depp has been named the highest earning actor of the year by Forbes.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star jumped from number ten on the 2009 rich list to the top position, having earned USD 50 million in the period from June 2009 to June 2010.

The 47-year-old pulled in a huge sum for his portrayal of the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton's hit Alice In Wonderland, as well as a USD 15 million fee for his upcoming film The Tourist with Angelina Jolie.

Actor Ben Stiller is at number two with a salary of USD 38 million stemming from his pay cheques for Night at the Museum 2 and his next Meet the Fockers movie.

The number three spot goes to Tom Hanks, who has garnered USD 30 million, while Adam Sandler has managed USD 26.6 million. The top ten is rounded out by Leonardo DiCaprio (USD 18.6 million), Daniel Radcliffe (USD 16.6 million), Robert Downey Jr (USD 14.6 million), Tom Cruise (USD 14.6 million), Brad Pitt (USD 13.3 million) and George Clooney (USD 12.6
million).
