Girls clinch top three positions in Inter exams

 




Private colleges’ girls clinched top three positions in the annual intermediate examination 2010 as the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Multan announced results Saturday. Overall pass percentage was
49.62.
However, a girl from the government college Burewala also shared third position.
Sarooj Ahmad from Superior College Multan, roll no 1021, was declared top position holder with 1026 marks and claimed a Pentium 4 computer besides Rs 20,000.
Sameena Rubab from Punjab College, roll no 532, grabbed second position with 1023 marks while her college-mate Yamna Athar, roll no 568, and Sadia Aslam from Government College Borewala, roll no 1353, shared third position with 1022 marks.
The second position holder was given Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 was given to the third position bolder.
Controller examination Prof Muhammad Akbar said that 59,210 candidates appeared in the examination and 29,381 passed with percentage of 49.62.
Out of 5,619 candidates of pre-medical group, 4,554 were declared successful, showing pass percentage of 81.05. Pass percentage was 72.77 among pre-engineering group candidates as 4,775 students and 6,562 passed.
Fifteen cases of unfair means were detected in the examination and twelve of them have been decided.
