Former DPO Waqar Chohan, 5 others on 7-day remand

A special anti-terrorist court sent former DPO Sialkot and five constables accused in lynching case on further remand of seven days, while an ASI was handed over to police on one day physical remand in the same case. The judge of the Anti-terrorist court II, Nisar Ahmed sent former DPO Sialkot Waqar Chohan, constables Nazir Husain, Akram, Naseer, Yaseen and Bashir on further 7-day remand to jail. Accused ASI Waris was handed over to police for one day physical remand. In the same case the court issued unbailable arrest warrants of fugitive Shafeeq alias Faujee, r/o Jaranwala. The court directed the police to arrest all those accused in this case who have so far not been caught. The aforementioned accused were brought to court under the cover of heavy security, told court sources.
