Lindsay Lohan released from court-ordered rehab

Troubled Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan has been released from court-ordered rehab, just three weeks into her 90-day term.

The 24-year-old was ushered out of the back door of the UCLA Medical Centre in Los Angeles and called her mother Dina as soon she got out, reported Radar online.

A three-car decoy was used to get her out of facility and away from the media.

It comes as another early release for the Mean Girls actress, who served just 13 days of a 90-day prison term for probation violations stemming from a 2007 DUI charge.

The news comes following reports that Judge Elden Fox was expected to make a ruling to make a new rehab order, shortening Lohan's court-ordered stay in treatment.

The doctors treating her believed that the 90-day stay ordered by the previous judge in the case, Marsha Revel, was excessive and recommended an early release.

A surprise appearance in court today by Lohan's lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, had added to the speculation.

Lohan, was jailed on July 20 for violating probation on a 2007 conviction for driving under the influence and served just 13 days of her sentence due to overcrowding.

She was then taken to the rehab facility, located in the Westwood area of Los Angeles on August 3.
